Data Minds Panel - April 11, 2024

Data Minds - Triple Threat: Leveraging Data to Manage AI, ESG, and ETF Risks

Institutional investors have largely been risk-averse since the beginning of the current bull market in early 2023. We started to see that slowly change in February as investors develop more of an appetite for risk. How can investors use data (and what types of data) to increase exposure to riskier assets such as stocks? If stocks are at a near-term top as some analysts have suggested, how would one use data in that environment?

In this Data Minds panel, capital markets experts will weigh in on the following topics:

  • Given the increased regulatory focus on AI usage, what specific risks will firms face when it comes to data selection and usage within these models?

  • How will greenwashing impact firms' use of data in ESG, especially with the recent clarity from European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA)?

  • How will the rise of more thematic and actively managed ETFs impact the sector's risk profile and affect data usage?
